Temptery
Project Type: Professional
Role: Lead Creative Advisor
My work for Temptery is what opened up the door for me to consider a new career and pursue another degree. I walked in as a complete novice and learned a plethora of new skills along the way. As their creative director, I worked on everything from logos and website design to labels and photography.
Product Photography
When taking photos for Temptery, it was important to think of who the product was for and what values the brand held. Each season we put together new products with new themes, but the company brand had to be visible and obvious. We wanted the feel of healthy choices, being close to nature, and still having some indulgence to be present in each shot. I worked with different stains of wood and natural light to achieve this, often shooting outside.
Marketing
“Chocolate is Nature’s way of making up for Mondays”
Marketing was new to me completely, but having had a substantial following on both Youtube and Instagram helped me navigate. I managed the Facebook and Instagram for the company. Each winter, we put together holiday quizzes, which were incredibly fun!
Design
One of the main tasks I was given was molding the look and feel of the brand. I created the website, developed logos, made labels, picked out containers, tested packaging, named products, did user testing, and absolutely everything else you can think of that had to do with the aesthetics and feel of the company.
Almost all of this work was my first time doing it, and I felt honored that I was given the opportunity to grow so much, having had so little experience prior. There is a certain warmth and validation you receive working with a smaller company and I hope to have an opportunity to aid other startups and small businesses shape who they are and what aura they would like to present to their customers.
